North Carolina Real Estate Forms Information

After making no major changes to the various required real estate forms for some time, the North Carolina Association of Realtors and the NC Bar Association approved extensive changes to their forms in 2007.  Even more radical (and good) changes will be coming in late 2010.

As of November 2007, all of these new forms are required to be used by agents, Buyers, and Sellers.  The changes made include many new important "drop-dead" deadlines, stricter requirements on proving ability to secure financing, and increased responsibility and liability on the parts of the Buyer and Seller in different sections of the contract.

I strongly encourage you to read through the explanations and sample forms provided to the side and insist that you fully understand them before signing anything.  Your agent should be happy to explain these documents and how they are filled out.

More new forms will put into effect later in 2010, so check back in for those.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding these forms.
